CASE STUDY: THE STARTUP NONPROFIT

In 2015, Justin and Trisha Davis faced a difficult task: Launching and building attendance for a church in the competitive market of Carmel, Indiana. Key to that strategy: Presenting the image on Instagram, Facebook and Twitter of an authentic yet inclusive and hip faith community online, encouraging new attendees to check out the church. 

I got to work managing the start-up church’s Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter pages as the curator of all photos and posts. In less than a year, I grew Hope City Church’s Instagram following by 247%, Facebook by 91%, and Twitter by 89%.  

For the church’s preview service, we reached 99,000 people through Facebook sponsored posts. 

BEFORE: Hope City had 242 Instagram followers, 649 Facebook likes and 155 Twitter followers. 

AFTER: Hope City had 841 Instagram followers, 1,240 Facebook likes and 244 Twitter followers.
